PETROPAVLOVSK-KAMCHATSKY. July 13. VOSTOK-MEDIA – Turkish tourists are leaving for Kamchatka for their vacation-making. The tour for a group of Turkish tourists was organized by one of Kamchatka’s tour operators. The group consists of seven tourists, including a Turk professor Orhan Kural, an author of television programme about travelling. For several days they intend to visit Paratunsk resort zone, the famous Valley of Geysers and take a cruise around Avachinsk Bay.
Previously, Turks were rare visitors the peninsula, and there had never been more than one Turkish tourist at a season in Kamchatka. And this is the first organized tourist group that learned about this region from the Internet and left for Kamchatka.
Usually, it is foreign tourists from USA, Japan and European countries that visit Kamchatka. During 2008, there were more than 14,000 foreign tourists from 50 countries as well as approximately 24,000 Russian tourists from other parts of the country.
