VLADIVOSTOK. September 13. VOSTOK-MEDIA – The 8th International Film Festival Pacific Meridian opened its doors Saturday for Primorye movie enthusiasts.
The Vladivostok community indulged themselves in the glamorous atmosphere of film festivals in Cannes or, at least in Sochi, and had a chance to see Russian and world cinema celebrities with their own eyes. However, movie devotees began gathering hours before the opening ceremony to get a better view of the celebrities, their fancy dresses and costumes.
This year, the blue carpet, its color symbolizing the sea waves, was packed with Russian movie celebrities such as Valery Baranov, Natalya Egorova, Evgenia Simonova and Liza Arzamasva. Foreign visitors included the French actor Vincent Perez, members of key international film juries, and the filmmakers that submitted their movies at the festival: Dan-ji Fan, Oscar Ruiz Navia, Vimukthi Jayasundara, Daniel and Diego Vega, Mark Albiston and Louis Sutherland.
