Vladimir Putin Inspected Progress of Work at Military Housing Construction Site in Vladivostok

Prime Minister has visited Snegovaya Pad residential area, where houses for military personnel and their families are constructed.

VLADIVOSTOK. October 13. VOSTOK-MEDIA – Yesterday, as part of his working trip around Primorsky Krai Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin has visited Snegovaya Pad residential area, where houses for military personnel and their families are constructed. He was accompanied by Sergey Darkin, Governor of Primorsky Krai.


Vladimir Filippov, Deputy Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation, Head of RF Defense Ministry Billeting, Facilities and Installation Service stated that by 2010 more than 4,5 thousand apartments for military personnel will be constructed in the region. According to Vladimir Filippov, the major problem of the region is the lack of social infrastructure as well as considerable remoteness from trading depot.


Vladimir Putin, in his turn, said that he and the Governor of Primorsky Krai Sergey Darkin made arrangement to construct social infrastructure in the region. “We plan to build a school, health center and child day care center there,” –said Vladimir Putin. According to the Prime Minister, more than 3.5 mio roubles will be allocated from the state budget for implementation of this project. In addition, Prime Minister has instructed Sergey Darkin to hold talks with local business community on engagement of entrepreneurs in construction of stores in the district.


Also, Vladimir Putin has visited one of the apartments designed for military personnel, press-service of Vladivostok Administration told RIA Vostok-Media.


It will be recalled that early in the year Sergey Darkin and RF Ministry of Defense have signed an agreement on co-operation between the Administration of Primorsky Krai and Ministry of Defense of Russia on purchasing houses for armed forces personnel and their families residing in Primorsky Krai.


The Governor Sergey Darkin noted that this is a socially significant project. Provision of housing for military men is a very urgent issue for Primorsky Krai. “The main task of the Government is to provide military personnel and their families with sound living environment as well as to prevent outflows of skilled people from Primorsky Krai,” – stated the Governor.
