Discussion on Cultural Projects in Vladivostok

In the local Administration Director of international relations and tourism department, Vyacheslav Kushnarev and Bridget Gersten, Consul of press, culture and education in the U.S. Consulate General, discussed future cultural projects between the U.S. and Vladivostok

VLADIVOSTOK. 13 November. VOSTOK-MEDIA. Today, Administration of Vladivostok held a working meeting where issues on cultural exchange programs between the U.S. and Vladivostok were discussed.
At the meeting Vyacheslav Kushnarev, Director of international relations and tourism department, and Bridget Gersten, Consul of press, culture and education discussed new exchange programs and other opportunities for mutually beneficial cooperation. Bridget Gersten proposed to conduct sports and cultural actions such as: fitness-marathon and concerts of different American musical bands. On November, 15 American jazzman Alvin Atkinson and his band will perform for orphans in one of Vladivostok clubs, “Okno”.
Vyachelslav Kushnarev, in his turn, assured that Administration is very interested in such cultural actions and proposed closer cooperation between twin-cities as San-Diego and Vladivostok. It is planned to resume students, teachers, Mass Media and workers exchanges. One of the new communications is video-conferences which financially cheap and involve personal communication and help tackling problems.
In the framework of the working meeting, Bridget Gersten and Vyacheslav Kushnarenko discussed the 150th anniversary of Vladivostok where foreign vessel parade and fleet musical bands performances, including the U.S. Navy Forces, are expected to be organized.
Winding up the meeting, counterparts agreed on closer communication and cooperation on cultural issues.
