BLAGOVESHCHENSK. May 14. VOSTOK MEDIA – Salvors of the Amur affiliate of the Search-and-Rescue Detachment are ready to help to Chinese citizens suffered from earthquake. Amur Polit Ru reports that today the head of the Ministry of the Russian Federation for Civil Defense of Amur Oblast, Nikolay Prilipko checks the readiness of the personnel and the equipment.
The press service of the Amur branch of the Ministry of the Russian Federation for Civil Defense informs about the possibility of involving the local specialists for a work in the zone of the emergency situation. The time of possible flight to China will be announced further.
The detachment numbers two working groups for committing search and rescue work, 6 specialists in every group, and a task group consisted of 2 specialists for organization of intercommunication and cooperation with other rescue groups.
This Monday a disruptive earthquake - 7,8 force on the Richter scale - struck Chinese province Sichuan. The total death-roll is over 12 000 persons. In the focus of the earthquake 80% of the buildings are demolished. The damage in some provinces is still being improved.
