Search for Bereaved Tiger Cub Gets Underway in Primorsky Krai
The animal should be found and taken out from its natural habitat for rehabilitation as soon as possible, otherwise it would just die of hunger.
VLADIVOSTOK. December 14. VOSTOK-MEDIA – Primorsky Krai Rosprorodnadzor officers are searching for the bereaved tiger cub, the press service of Federal Service for Supervision of Natural Resource Usage reported.
Federal Service for Supervision of Natural Resource Usage was informed that a tiger cub had been seen near Nevskoye village, Primorsky Krai.
Officers of the Special Inspection Tigr (Tiger) arrived on the spot. They examined the trail of the young animal and found out that the tiger cub was badly emaciated. The trail revealed that the animal failed to mount the 200-meter hill, turned around and went back to a flood plain of the river. The heel length of the tiger is 7.5-8 cm, the body length – 1 meter. It was also found out that during the week the tiger cub was seen within hunting areas. During this time it killed three dogs in Nevskoyr village but couldn’t eat them.
According to experts, the tiger cub should be found and taken out from its natural habitat for rehabilitation as soon as possible, otherwise the animal would just die of hunger. This prompted Rosprorodnadzor to issue a permit for capturing the bereaved tiger cub and handing it over to the Special Inspection Tigr for treatment and recuperation purposes with subsequent reintroduction of the animal into its natural habitat.
At present, the search for the tiger by officers of the Special Inspection Tigr is underway.
