VLADIVOSTOK. January 15. VOSTOK-MEDIA – At the invitation of the Harbin authorities, delegation of Vladivostok administration headed by Vyacheslav Kushnarev, the head of the Department for Foreign Affairs visited Chinese 10-million population city – Harbin.
The programme of the visit included wide range of ceremonial meetings and negotiations including the meeting with Mrs. Van Lee, deputy mayor of Harbin. As a result, for the fist time in the international relationship the long-term project concerning cooperation between Vladivostok and Harbin was worked up and signed. The key point is that an agreement concerning the establishment of twin-city relations will be concluded in the year 2009, and Harbin will become the second twin-city of the Vladivostok together with Dalian.
Besides, new proposals as to development of mutually profitable trade-economic cooperation are at the stage of implementation now. It includes attraction of the investments from various Harbin companies to the construction of range of large housing and administrative complexes on the territory of the regional center of Primorskiy Krai. The Presentation Harbin that will take place in Vladivostok this year will facilitate this process.
