The Oldest Inhabitant of the Kamchatka Region Celebrates her 100 –Year Anniversary

Rachel Abramovna Busheleva has been residing in the Far East for all her life and continues her social activity eagerly

PETROPAVLOVSK-KOMCHATSKY. January 16. VOSTOK-MEDIA - Rachel Abramovna Busheleva, the oldest resident of the Kamchatka will be 100-year old on January 16. She was born in Irkutsk on January 16, 1909. At the age of 9 she together with her parents moved to Khabarovsk, where she worked later in the regional committee of the labor union. In the year 1928 she went with her husband to Vladivostok, and in 1939 moved to Sakhalin. She was repressed at the time. Since 1973 she has been residing in Kamchatka.
She brought up three children. Two of them are working in Kamchatka now.
Rachel leads an active life, and is a member of human rights association “Memorial”. And she is also the member of Jewish religious community of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky.
The representatives of the state and public organizations of the peninsula congratulated Rachel heartily.
