Russian and American Coast Guards Share Experience

KHABAROVSK. April 16. VOSTOK MEDIA – A delegation of the Russian FSB Border Department for the Far Eastern Federal District held a working meeting with the Command of the US Pacific Area Coast Guard in San-Francisco. The visit of the Russian Far Eastern coast guard was held in the framework of collaboration between the regional frontier structures of Russia and the United States.
The FSB Coast Guard press service reports, the sides discussed perspectives of further practical interaction in countering transnational organized criminal activities in the field of maritime transportation, securing exclusive economic zones and convention areas. The delegates specified the schedule of events that will be jointly held by the North-East and Sakhalin FSB Coast Guards and 14th and 17th Districts of the US Coast Guard. The events will be aimed at securing convention areas in the Bering Sea and northern part of the Pacific Ocean. A special attention was drawn to organization issues of port calls in the North-East FSB Frontier Department and US 17th District Coast Guard and conduct of joint exercises.
