Primorye Bailiffs Step up their Effort to Detain Non-Payers on Sino-Russian Border

So far, more than 40 bad debtors have been detained at Grodekovo checkpoint this month.

VLADIVOSTOK. March 17. VOSTOK-MEDIA – Primorsky Krai Federal Bailiff Service in collaboration with the Far Eastern Customs Service and Ussuriisk Customs are taking measures to detain persistent non-payers at the Sino-Russian checkpoint in Grodekovo railway station and urge them settle their debts.


A spokesman for the Federal Bailiff Service said in a train running from Suifenhe the Primorsky Krai bailiffs detained two persistent non-payers, one of them being 2,500 rubles in debt to an energy provider, the debt of the other to a person exceeding 57,000 rubles.


The two bad debtors did not make any attempts to settle the debt imposed by the court. Having learned that the bailiffs intend to levy distraint upon the goods they bought in China, the young man decided to settle his debt on the spot.


As the second nonpayer refused to settle her debt on the spot the bailiffs levied a distrainment upon the goods she bought in China. In the event of embezzlement or disposition of the distrained goods she could face criminal charges.


So far, more than 40 bad debtors have been detained at Grodekovo checkpoint this month. In the nearest future bailiffs will be assigned to other checkpoints in Primorsky Krai.
