UK Diplomatic Shows Interest in Creation of Consulate Street in Vladivostok

The idea to create Consulate street was initiated by the Vladivostok administration on the threshold of APEC-2012 summit

VLADIVOSTOK. June 17. VOSTOK-MEDIA – Vladivostok deputy mayor Alexander Zubritsky has held a business meeting with the honorary consul of United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland in Vladivostok Andrew Marcus Fox. Vladivostok Mayor councillor Vladimir Zakharov, Chief of Department of International Relations and Tourism Vyacheslav Kushnarev and consular assistant of United Kingdom and Great Britain and Northern Islands Alexander Starodubov also took part in the meeting.





The progress of implementation of Conculate Street project was the leading question at the business meeting. On the eve of his business trip to Moscow and London Andrew Fox was keen to obtain some details of the project so that he would be able to provide an in-depth report to the government of his nation. It was reported earlier that the idea to create Consulate street was initiated by the Vladivostok Administration on the threshold of APEC-2012 summit.





Such streets and Diplomatic Campuses exist in many cities of the world. Its compactness facilitates strengthening and development of international relationships and as well as simplifies the procedure of addressing of citizens to Diplomatic representations of various countries. Andrew Fox was informed that a working group for implementation of the project ‘Consulate street’ headed by Sergey Sukhanov, Vice Deputy Mayor of the city had been created by Vladivostok administration. Representatives of Vladivostok Administration and Ministry for Foreign Affairs, deputies of the Vladivostok state Duma as well as consulates working in Vladivostok are also members of the working group.This project includes relocation of all foreign Consulates to one district of Vladivostok, ranking second to St. Petersburg by the number of foreign Consulates.





The participants of the meeting came to decision to exchange all necessary documents on the part of administration of Vladivostok city General Consulate of Great Britain in Moscow in order to develop joint measures within the project ‘Consulate street’.
