FENTU Takes Part in the International Book Fair in Pyongyang

The established business relations with foreign participants will deepen the international relations and develop the FENTU

VLADIVOSTOK. August 17. VOSTOK-MEDIA – The First International Architecture Book Fair took place in Pyongyang (North Korea) in the framework of the International Exhibition of Technical and Scientific Books, drawing representatives from China, France, Germany, USA and from many other countries. Russia was presented by Lenin Library (Moscow), Union of Architects of Russia and Far Eastern National Technical University (FENTU).
According to the FENTU Foreign Affairs Department, the technical university was presented by A.G. Shipilov and V.E. Karpenko, lecturers at the Institute of Architecture and Design, at the book fair.
The book fair was organized by the Committee for Cultural Relations with Foreign Countries of PDRK, Committee for Pyongyang International Exhibition of Technical and Scientific Books with the cooperation of the Russian-Korean Friendship Society.
The book fair took place in the House of Peoples Education located in the capital of PDRK, enjoyed high governmental status. Choe Thae Bok, Secretary of the Central Committee of the Workers Party of Korea, representatives of diplomatic corps and mass media officials were present at the opening and closing ceremonies.
Every year this book fair arouses keenest interest among the residents and visitors of Pyongyang. Academic community representatives, lecturers and students are regular visitors of the fair. The House of the People’s Education has ‘state library’ status and once the book fair is closed all those who are willing to get information on new books, may do it through the computer network.
The delegation of the FENTU held meetings with Korean architects and lecturers, established business relations with foreign participants from European countries. These actions are supposed to deepen the international relations and develop FENTU.
