Under the command of the Rear Admiral Sergey Alekminsky, the crew of the naval unit has carried out successfully the counter-piracy operation. It should be noted that this was the longest-running counter-piracy operation ever undertaken by the Pacific Fleet. The voyage mission lasted 141 days and covered 15 thousand nautical miles.

During the mission the naval unit escorted 13 convoys, which comprised 101 vessels from 26 countries, to the safe waters. In addition, the Pacific Fleet detachment took part in two China-Russia counter-piracy military exercises.

Naval ships made a call in the Oman city port of Salala, the capital of the Republic of Seychelles – Victoria as well as several cities of Malaysia.

As tradition demands the crew of the naval unit was given roast pigs and numerous presents and souvenirs.

It should be recalled that the third naval unit of the Pacific Fleet embarked on the counter-piracy mission on June 29. In addition to seamen the detachment includes a Marine detachment that will board civilian vessels to ensure onboard security of civil vessels.
