Books for Kids Charity Event is Being Held in Vladivostok
The campaign is aimed to promote the Russian language and literature among children.
VLADIVOSTOK. February 18. VOSTOK-MEDIA – Books for Kids charity campaign is being held in Vladivostok. Varvara Shalunova, a spokesman for the Youth Affairs department of Vladivostok Eparchy, told Vostok-Media all those willing to help boarding schools are welcome to make their book donations.
Organizers of the event are accepting classics of Russian national literature. Book donations may be made from Feb. 16 through 22nd. After the campaign is over, the books will be sent to barding schools and children’s libraries.
Display stands containing the donated books and posters of Russian writers will be placed in Primorsky Krai tuberculosis hospital, children’s rehabilitation centre “Parus Nadezhdy”, and boarding school No. 2.
Russian Culture for Future Generations event was organized by Youth Affairs department of Vladivostok Eparchy, and Russky Mir Foundation. The campaign is aimed to promote the Russian language and Russian literature among children. The event coincides with Day of Russian Language celebrated on Feb. 21.
Book donations are being accepted at Port-Artursky Church (18, Gamarnika Street).
