Spring Equinox Festival to Take Place in Khabarovsk

The event aims at maintaining the cultural diversity and contributing to the formation of favorable public opinion of the ethnic minorities’ cultural organizations and centers.

KHABAROVSK. March 18. VOSTOK-MEDIA – The opening of the What Is Spring exhibition in the Far Eastern State Research Library on March 21will officially launch the Spring Equinox Festival of indigenous peoples’ cultures. The exhibition tells about the traditional spring holidays of the indigenous peoples of Khabarovsk Krai.


After the opening of the exhibition, members of the ethnic minorities’ cultural organizations of Khabarovsk will give performances. The event will include dancing, singing, poetry reading and films screening. Among the organizers and participants are Khabarovsk Krai Center of Russian Culture “Rozhdestvo” (Christmas), Association of the Korean Non-Governmental Organizations of Russia’s Far East, Belarusian Community Culture Center, Green Ukraine Culture Society, Batkyvska Krynitsa Ukraine Community, Khabarovsk Krai Tatar Community, Yakut Culture Center, Khabarovsk Krai Center of German Culture KORN, Association of the Indigenous Peoples of Siberia, Russia’s Far East and Far North, as well as other organizations.


Spring Equinox Festival is held as part of the large-scale cultural and educational project Sprouts of Tolerance, which aims at maintaining the cultural diversity and contributing to the formation of favorable public opinion of the ethnic minorities’ cultural organizations and centers.
