Moscow Announces Tender for Designing of International Conference-Centre

VLADIVOSTOK. June 18. VOSTOK-MEDIA – A competitive tender for designing of International Conference-Hall in Russky Island for hosting APEC-2012 summit has been announced in Moscow.

The meeting of heads of states-members of Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation is expected to be held in the grandiose building, which should be constructed by 2012.

The International Conference-Centre will be located at Saperniy peninsula, in the so-called business zone of APEC summit. The total area of the construction will be 42.5 thousand sq. meters. There center will consist of halls for holding of sessions of heads of Ania-Pacific Region countries, conference hall, rooms for business breakfast as well as accommodations for accompanying persons, 25 halls for bilateral meetings of the heads APEC states and 25 halls for delegation of the states.

The project of the construction shall also provide such specific rooms as kitchen unit where food for participants of the summit will be cooked as well as 15 staff rooms that will accommodate steering committee, press service, protocol service, security service and the like. Along with parking areas, that are supposed to be created within the business area of the summit, there will also be three-storied underground parking with capacity not less than 600 lots under the building of International Conference-Centre.

Considering the fact that once the summit is closed the building is expected to be transferred the soon-to-be-established Far Eastern Federal University, a range of education-oriented facilities such as gym hall, libraries, lecture halls, laboratories will be created there.
