Heavy Snowfall in China Caused a Death Toll of 32

The heaviest snowfall in the last 60 years has affected 9.62 mio people.

VLADIVOSTOK. November 18. VOSTOK-MEDIA – Nearly half of the seasonal snowfall fell in North China within a week.


  According to the China Meteorological Administration, the northern Chinese provinces of Hebei, Shanxi and Henan suffered the heaviest snowfall in the last 60 years.

 
  The death toll has already risen to 32, Xinhua news agency reports. The massive snowfall has affected 9.62 mio people; more than 166,000 evacuated. The snowfall has damaged crops in agriculture fields in 295 thousand hectares area. Some 15 thousand buildings were wholly or partially destroyed. The direct economic loss has reached about USD 1bln.
