Birth Rate Growing in Russian Far East

VLADIVOSTOK. February 19. VOSTOK MEDIA – Vostok Media reports 22 302 babies were born in 2007 that is 1 400 more than in 2006.
“This is a record for the last two decades,”- Sergey Darkin, Governor of the Primorsky Krai, said Tuesday making the annual report before the region’s public.
“This is the prove that tells people see the good future and are confident in it,- Governor said.- I want to say special thanks to Sergey Blazhko, a resident of Yasnaya Polyana village who maintains 11 own children and Tatiana Kozolup, teacher of physics of the Dalnerechensk town school No.5, who brings up six children. I think they really deserve the state awards that we gave them last year – the order “For Merit before the Fatherland”.
