VLADIVOSTOK. March 18. VOSTOK-MEDIA – In the preferences of Russians the domestic made cars give way to foreign made ones. According to the All-Russian Public Opinion Research Center in the year 2006 54 % of the Russian buyers opted for purchasing of a car that was made in Russia, and only 39 % of them preferred foreign-made car. But at the present time 49 % of respondents would rather choose an imported car and only 22 % would buy home-made one.
In 2006 19 % of respondents planned to buy a new car, at present – 24 %; secondhand car – 20 % and 24 % respectively. 35 % planned to buy a new home-made car, at present – 12 %; secondhand car – 19 and 10 % respectively.
Lower income Russians are more often inclined to buy secondhand foreign car – 31 %, or a new home-made car. The well-to-do are inclined to buy new (38 %) or secondhand (20 %) foreign car.
Every sixth respondent (20 %) said that he planned to spend $ 6-10 thousand, in 2006 – 29 %. 18 % of respondents plan to spend on the purchase not more than $ 5000. Almost every tenth (12 %) plan to spend $ 11-20 thousand. $ 21-30 thousand – 6 %. $ 30 – 50 th. – 3 %. And only one per cent plan to buy a car that costs more than $ 50,000.
