Primorye Round of Best Welder Contest to Take Place in Vladivostok

VLADIVOSTOK. March 19. VOSTOK-MEDIA – Today, the vocational school No. 11, Vladivostok, hosts the regional round of the Best Welder contest. This year, 23 students of 14 basic vocational education schools of Vladivostok, Ussuriisk, Partizansk, Artyom, Spassk-Dalny, Arsenyev, Dalnegorsk, Luchegorsk and Nakhodka branch of the State Maritime University, who have won the municipal round of the contest, will compete in the event.

The knowledge-oriented part of the contest includes tests on vocational subjects. During the skill-oriented part the competitors will weld and blank off sections of metal pipes.

The jury will consist of experts of Welding Engineering Subdepartment of the Far Eastern State Technical University, Regional Center for Engineering Structures Testing, and Dalenergosetproyekt welding laboratory.

The winners in the Primorsky Krai round of the competition will be admitted to participate in the interregional round of Best Welder, which will take place in Birobidzhan, Jewish Autonomous Region, on March 25-25.

All the participants will receive presents, diplomas, and certificates of the Department of Education and Science. Five winners in the event will get FENU certificates entitling them non-competitive entry into Welding Engineering Subdepartment, provided they have passed entrance examinations, a spokesman for Primorsky Krai Administration reported.
