Mayor of Bolshoi Kamen Nailed for Taking Huge Bribe

At present, law enforcers are considering placing him in detention.

VLADIVOSTOK. May 19. VOSTOK-MEDIA – Vladimir Khalyavko, the mayor of Bolshoi Kamen, a closed town in the Russian Far East, has been charged with taking massive bribes, police officials said.

Investigators found out that Vladimir Khalyavko asked one million rubles of a Khabarovsk businessman saying he could facilitate in obtaining permit for carrying out production operations in Bolshoi Kamen.

“On May 12, Khalyavko received a portion of the bribe in the amount of 200,000 rubles through an intermediary in the building of Primorsky Krai Administration. On May 18, he was detained by law enforcement officers at Vladivostok International Airport,” a police official said.

At present, law enforcers are considering placing him in detention. Law enforcers continue the criminal investigation into the bribery case. Police has already conducted a search and interviewed several witnesses.

"
