Youth Ecology Symposium to be Held in Dalian

VLADIVOSTOK. July 18. VOSTOK-MEDIA – The issues of open water areas protection will be discussed this week by students from North-East Asia, including Japan, South Korea, Mongolia and China.

This year’s international youth ecology symposium takes place on August 4-5 at Dalian, a Chinese city in Liaoning province.

Primorsky Krai Department for Natural Resources Management and Conservation told Vostok-Media that Primorye will be represented at the forum by seven students from Vladivostok, Dalnerechensk, Spassk-Dalny, Partizansk, Nadezhdinsky Regon and Pozharsky Region.

The symposium, which was first launched in 2004, provides an opportunity for youth to share their experience in dealing with various environmental problems, as well as to gain deeper insight into the environmental protection. The international event is one of the most successful projects of the environmental subcommittee of the Association of North East Asia Regional Governments.

Experts say such events raise awareness of environmental issues in Primorye, as well as to strengthen Primorye’s position as an active participant of the international environmental cooperation.
