Don’t Hew the Christmas Tree, ‘Cause There are Few to See

KHABAROVSK. December, 19. VOSTOK-MEDIA – “Don’t hew the Christmas tree, ‘cause there are few to see!” is the motto of the action “Campaign Christmas tree” in Khabarovsk.
The aim of this project is to prevent illegal conifers felling during the New Year Holidays and organization of social movement against illegal felling.
It is planned to create the informative campaign, aimed at the change of the tradition of using hewed conifers, and other measures against illegal felling and selling conifers on the threshold of New Year Holidays. It is necessary to create alliance uniting different groups of people for discussion of this issue.
The citizens of Khabarovsk will get leaflets with the call to examine tree sellers’ documents and to inform about illegal storage and selling of the forest produce on the hotline.
