The Foreign Car Import Decreased by Four Times

VLADIVOSTOK. February 20. VOSTOK-MEDIA – According to the press agency ‘Autostat’ since the beginning of 2009 import of foreign cars decreased significantly. Its quantity dropped by 3.6 times in comparison with January 2008. The major reason of it in the sharp rise in foreign car import taxes and in hasty growth of dollar euro exchange rate.
Despite the general decline in demand on new cars in Russia by 1/3 such makes of cars as , Hyundai, Nissan, Ford and Peugeot are still in request. These car models amount for 2/3 of all car import. The experts point out that every 9 of 10 cars are new ones. The negative factor of it is the sharp decrease of budget revenue from custom dues.
