No less than 1.5 thousand will visit the Tourist Complex ‘Moneron Island’ in Sakhalin this Year

UZHNO-SAKHALINSK. March 20. VOSTOK-MEDIA - The issues concerning tourism development prospects in Moneron Island were discussed at the session headed by the Governor. As is well known, in connection with build-up regional concept of development of tourism aimed at stimulation of formation of the modern tourism industry at the Sakhalin Region territory, the state environmental institution ‘Regional Nature Park ‘Moneron Island’ of Sakhalin’ was handed over to the supervision of the Committee for International, External Economic and Interregional Relationship. Vadim Rokotov, the head of the Committee reported to the Governor about what has been done and what needs to be done soon so that the tourist complex was put in commission this year and the inhabitants and guests of the region could visit the first marine nature park in Russia any day in the week. As part of the project the bridge crossing will be repaired, ecological paths and viewing points will be rebuilt and all necessary repair work in the buildings of the tourist complex done. It is planned that no less than 1.5 thousand will visit the tourist complex ‘Moneron Island’ in Sakhalin this year.
