The finding is likely to further undermine ties between the two Koreas.

VLADIVOSTOK. May 20. VOSTOK-MEDIA – An international investigation team found that it was a North Korean torpedo that sank the Cheonan corvette, Yonhap news agency reported.

The international team of experts has reached a conclusion after scrutinizing torpedo parts that were raised from the bottom of the Yellow Sea that they perfectly match a type of torpedo North Korean has offered for export.

The South Korean naval ship Cheonan was split apart by an underwater explosion on March 26 in the Yellow Sea killing 46 sailors. The accident was preceded by a firefight near their disputed border. Parts of the South Korean ship were later recovered from the bottom of the sea for investigation.

The finding is likely to further undermine ties between the two Koreas, experts said.
