The New York Times Invited Russians to Post Videos on their Website

VLADIVOSTOK. May 20. VOSTOK-MEDIA – New York Times invited Russian readers to submit their videos about corruption and other problems in Russian society on the website of the daily.

The project titled “Tell the World About Your Corner in Russia” published on the website of the New York Times provides an opportunity for Russians to influence society through the Internet. “This would raise awareness among millions of New York Times readers all over the world about pressing issues of your city, region or the whole country,” the daily wrote.

There are no restrictions on the type of the video. You can submit interviews with Russian citizens or officials, coverage of local events, etc. The submitted videos shall not exceed two minutes in length and, if possible, be in the English language.

As an example of such video post the New York Times picked snapshots of the videos by Stanislav Sutyagin, who was used as a human shield on the Moscow Ring Road, Aleksei Dymovsky’s video message to Putin and Mikhail Evseev’s appeal to the President.

The Information and Advertising Department of Vladivostok State University of Economics and Service volunteered to help those residents of Primorsky Krai who are willing to post their video. (For more information call VSUES spokesman at (4232) 40-43-80)
