Primorskiy Krai Dopers Eyed On From Space
VLADIVOSTOK. August 20. VOSTOK-MEDIA – The first stage of Mak-2009 counter-drug operation has been passed in Primorsky Krai, reported Public Relations Office of Gosnarkokontrol federal drug fighting agency.
Primorsky Krai drugs police officers have opened 463 criminal cases relating to illegal drug turnover and seized some 190 Kg of illegal drugs in the course of the operation.
Delivering his speech at the extraordinary session of the regional anti-drugs commission, the Deputy Head of the regional State Drug Control Department ( Gosnarkokontrol) Alexey Zyryanov stated that experts from the Russian Federal Space Agency (Roscosmos) are being currently involved in the detection and subsequent elimination of illicit crop plantations with use of satellite imagery.
The main topic of the regional anti-drugs commission, held Wednesday in Vladivostok, was the review of the project “Conceptions of the state anti-drugs policy of the Russian Federation”.
The commission was led by Alexander Rolik, Lieutenant General of Police, Deputy Chairman of the commission, Head of the Federal Drug Control Department for Primorsky Krai.
Concluding the conference, Alexander Rolik emphasized the importance of the interdepartmental co-operation during such operations.
