APEC-2012 Summit Likely to be Advanced to Earlier Date
Sergey Darkin submitted a letter to the government proposing to move up the summit date from November to September.
VLADIVOSTOK. November 20. VOSTOK-MEDIA – APEC-2012 summit that will be held in Vladivostok may be advanced to an earlier date, Primorsky Krai Governor Sergey Darkin stated at a media briefing today.
“Usually APEC summit is held in November, but this is not the best time for Primorsky Krai to host such a major international event. I have already presented a letter to the government proposing to move up the summit date from November to September. It’s pretty cold in Primorsky Krai by November and there are a lot of tropical cyclones during August. In September, however, the weather is perfect here. We hope that our proposal will be endorsed and implemented,” said Sergey Darkin.
