The Ministry of Defence drives a wedge between the residents of Vladivostok and the builders of the summit objects

VLADIVOSTOK. January 21. VOSTOK-MEDIA – The conference at which the issues concerning the construction of the summit APEC-2012 objects were discussed took place in Vladivostok. The topical issue is still the surrender of land owned by the Ministry of Defence.
The most critical situation occurred at the construction of the bridge over sea channel Bosporus Vostochnyi. The bridge has already become the ‘Eight Miracle of the World’. It will connect the peninsula Nazimov and the Pospelov Cape. The construction goes at full drive in both sides of the sea channel. The construction might have been proceeding more quickly but there is one thing that impedes it: the working construction engineering at the peninsula Nazimov bears against residential space. People residing near the construction site did not know what to do. They were promised to get new accommodation but the officials keep silent about the matter. There were also problems with water and stock of wood for a winter. Today it is necessary to demolish 7,000 dwelling-houses with adjacent fabric.
During the conference it was said that the borders of demolition were already defined and the cadastral numbers were assigned; the documents were sent to Moscow and to the Ministry of Defence. The builders are ready to pay money to the people that are subject to removal but there was no decree from the Government on transfer of these lands.
Igor Zubarev, the director of the Federal State Institution for construction of works of the road facilities stated that there was no official rejection of the Ministry of Defence to these land parcels. And it is impossible to suspend the construction. People residing in these lands should be also removed. The situation is not better on the other side of the bridge under construction at the Cape of Pospelov. During numerous meetings of the representatives of ‘the Far East Directorate of the Russian Federal Agency for Construction, Housing Maintenance and Utilities’ with the residents of the island people continually focused on moving to the mainland. The residents of the island even made a proposal to construct the housing on the island on money designed for removal. Besides, the residents of the island applied in writing to the President of the Russian Federation with request to assist in resolving the situation. The administration of Vladivostok suggested to build new accommodation for them on the other part of the island-in Novic bay. Though, so that to do it the Ministry of Defence has to surrender this land in favor of the Vladivostok city. Drawn up documents has stuck in lobbies of military department. This ambiguous situation was confirmed by Alexey Suhov, the first deputy of the Major of Vladivostok.
