Cruise Season Begins in Kamchatka

PETROPAVLOVSK-KAMCHATSKIY. April 21. VOSTOK-MEDIA – Today, the 13-deck cruise ship ‘Crystal Serenity’ flying the flag of Bahamas entered the Avachinskaya bay for the first time in this year. There are 800 passengers from all over the world on the board of the ship and over 600 crew members. Not less than 18 cruise ships with foreign tourists on board are supposed to enter the port of Kamchatka until Oktober.
Development of maritime tourism in Kamchatka, implemented by foreign and Russian research vessels, began 16 years ago. Since 1993 till 2008 there were 107 Petropavlovsk-Kamchatskiy port enterings of cruise ships with almost 50 thousand foreign tourists on boards. Experts estimated that foreign cruise ships’ entering in Kamchatka yielded over 30 mln rubles.
