Blagoveshchensk Wushu Sportsmen Preparing for World Championship

BLAGOVESHCHENSK. May 21. VOSTOK-MEDIA – Blagoveshchensk Wushu sportsmen are preparing for a world championship following the success in the all-Russia Wushu competition in St. Petersburg.

Seven of the nine sportsmen of Blagoveshchensk Wushu team have returned from St. Petersburg with medals, including the Gold. This is the third time that Blegoveshchensk wushuists participate in a national competition and the first time that they have qualified for the world championship.

“I think it is my best achievement in sport,” said Natalya Shedko, the head of Far Eastern Wushu Federation. “Indeed, these sportsmen have surpassed me.”

The world championship will be held in Shiyan, a city in Northwest Hubei Province, Central China, in October this year. Blagoveshchensk officials said they are considering sending 5 sportsmen to the sports event.
