VLADIVOSTOK. October 21. VOSTOK-MEDIA – Today, on October 21, one of the offices of the Vladivostok City Hall became an international educational venue for students and teachers.

Deputy Head of Vladivostok Alexader Zubritsky, Chief of Protocol Management of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Tourism Vitaly Eremenko and the Chief Specialist of Municipal Educational Institutions Department Larisa Shishmareva held a formal meeting with the delegation of students and teachers from more than 20 schools located in the Japanese city of Hakodate, the Sister City of Vladivostok. The delegation was headed by the principal of Tokura School Hidemi Yamoto.

“The Japanese were the first foreign students in Vladivostok when the city opened for visits by foreigners,” – stated Alexander Zubritsky. “School of Japanese Studies, Far Eastern National University (FENU), is widely regarded as one of the country’s leading educational institutions of this kind. The Japanese language, culture and history gained a huge popularity among the residents of Vladivostok. Hakodate, on its part, is considered as the most “Russian” city of Japan: the city has branches of FENU and Russkiy Mir Foundation. Many residents of Hakodate study the Russian language. All this facilitates strengthening friendly ties between out countries. And the young goodwill ambassadors – students – play a very important role in boosting the bilateral relations. “

The fact that the young Japanese visitors asked numerous competent questions about Vladivostok, its culture as well as historic sites and memorable dates in the history of the city shows their deep interest in the capital of Primorsky Krai. To mark the development of the friendly relations the Japanese students performed a song dedicated to the Sister Cities of Hakodate and Vladivostok.

Alexander Zubritsky expressed his confidence that the visit of the Japanese delegation will further friendly ties between out cities, reported press-service of Vladivostok Administration.
