123 WWII-Era Air Bombs Found in Khabarovsk Krai
Large mine deactivating group of MES of Russia is operating there
KHABAROVSK. June 22. VOSTOK-MEDIA – 123 WWII-Era air bombs have been discovered by mine deactivating group of Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia at Amur near Sophiisk village, Khabarovsk Krai. The group consists of experts from the Chief Directorate of the MES of Russia for the Khabarovsk Krai, pyrotechnic Service of MES of Russia for Far Eastern Federal District.
For the last several years, locals have more than once found various bombs in the vicinity of the village. This fact has driven local authorities to send mine deactivating group for carrying out explosive ordnance disposal operations. Since June 11, composite mine deactivating group consisting of 45 people and 8 units of equipment has been operating there.
