Kamchatka to Become Health Resort

PETROPAVLOVSK-KAMCHATSKY. October 22. VOSTOK-MEDIA – The First Interregional Conference “Kamchatka: Russia’s Northeast Health Resort” opens in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky today, on October 22. The main aim of the conference is to conduct the research and development of Kamchatka’s potential as a health resort for residents of the northeast regions of the country, such as Yakutia, Sakhalin Region, Magan Region, Chukotka and Kamchatka Krai.

Experts from the leading R&D institutes of health resort study, climatology and physical therapy centers will take part in the conference. Renowned academicians and scientists from Moscow, Krasnoyarsk, Khabarovsk, Vladivostok and Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky will give their reports on the subject.

The participants of the conference will discuss Kamchatka resource potential for establishing health resort, treatment and rehabilitation method, including balneotherapy, thalassotherapy, application of marine products and herbal raw materials of the region in treatment and prevention of diseases as well as anti-stress prevention techniques. The issues relating to the regional ecological condition and preservation of recreational resources of Kamchatka will be also high on agenda.
