Patricia Kaas to Perform in Vladivostok

VLADIVOSTOK. October 23. VOSTOK-MEDIA – The famous actress and singer Patricia Kaas arrived in Vladivostok with her favorite fair-haired dog named Tequila. The capital of Primorsky Krai has somewhat reminded her of the USA, said the singer during the press-conference, which was held in Vladivostok on Thursday.

Against all expectations, the delicate middle-sized French lady appeared before journalists wearing something reminiscent of jockey’s silks rather than a fancy evening gown: tight pants tucked in high boots with chainlets on top and a jacket with huge shoulder pads.

The French diva confessed straight off that she had been in love with Russia for more than 20 years. And it is mutual.

“I came to the country that accepted me with open arms,” – stated Patricia Kaas.

“I’m a very inquisitive person by nature and it is always interesting for me to meet with various people and discover new cities,” – Patricia Kaas explained the reason behind her visit to the capital of Primorsky Krai.

During her Russian tour the renowned singer and actress took her pet dog named Tequila. But journalists did not have a chance to take a picture of the four-legged friend of the French star. The dog, like her mascot – a teddy bear, which Patricia Kaas always takes with her while on the road, were left in her hotel room.

When asked the question as to what kind of impression Vladivostok made on her, the singer answered that she had not yet taken a closer look at the city. But she said she liked the streets running along the road from the airport to the Versailles hotel where she stayed. They reminded her of US cities.

“I got the impression that Vladivostok is a very big and beautiful city. No wonder it is compared with San Francisco,” – stated the singer.

The sorrow and melancholy pitch of her songs Patricia Kaas explains by the close affinity between her personal life and art and associated feelings.

The famous singer was not at all confused by the stock comparison to the one sparrow-like yet iron-boned. She said that she combines both romanticism and strength.

“Are you skeptical about these two traits combined in one person?” – Patricia parried with a question.

During the press-conference the French singer mentioned that she had come across the Russian band Uma2rman and they decided to perform together. “Sometimes life gives us surprises and it is impossible to plan everything beforehand, including joint musical projects,” – Patricia Kaas believes.

Speaking about the reasons lying behind her participation in the Eurovision Song Contest the singer said that she just couldn’t decline the proposal put forward by the government of her homeland.

“I was very pleased to receive such a proposal from the French Government. Besides, I’m interested in sharing experiences with young and creative persons.”

It should be noted that despite the fact that the singer is 43 years old, she is very slender. When asked about her secrets to looking young Patricia Kaas said that “it’s great that nowadays there are plenty of means to hide what should be hidden…”

Today, Patricia Kaas will not just sing, she will play in her new Kabaret show, which will provide the audience the opportunity to enjoy the atmosphere of the 1930s.

The singer said that the show is a tribute to the great women of the time such as Greta Garbo.

“Kabaret is not just a concert. It is a performance about the weakness and strength of women the time,” – says Patricia.

It should be reminded that Kabaret is her first studio album in five years after her best-selling Sexe Fort. The new album features romance with lyrics from Marina Tsvetaeva ‘s I Like The Fact That You’re Not Mad About Me, performed in both Russian and French languages.
