The Russian petroleum exchange is planning to open a branch in Vladivostok.

VLADIVOSTOK. November 23. VOSTOK-MEDIA - The Russian petroleum exchange is planning to open a branch in Vladivostok, stated Primorsky Krai Governor Segey Darkin at a recent media briefing. With the opening of Kozmino oil terminal the possibility of establishing petroleum exchange and Russian-made oil products trading would become real.

“Today the focus of political and economic relations is on Asia-Pacific Region. Therefore, strong position of Russia in the East is of particular importance today. Vladivostok, being the outpost of the Far East, must fulfill this predestination. In the present case one of the main components is the arrival of oil on Russias Pacific coast. This would be a major economic leverage that will strengthen Russia’s position in Asia-Pacific Region. The 21st century will be the century of our country in the Asia-Pacific Region and it’s up to Vladivostok to play a key role in it,” said Sergey Darkin.

The issue concerning the opening of petroleum exchange in Russia has been debated for many years, but never were foreign countries to close to energy resources of our country.
