Vladivostok mayor Igor Pushkarev has held a working meeting with DPRK Consul General in Nakhodka Sim Guk Ryon.

VLADIVOSTOK. December 23. VOSTOK-MEDIA – Vladivostok mayor Igor Pushkarev has held a working meeting with DPRK Consul General in Nakhodka Sim Guk Ryon.

Deputy Mayor of Vladivostok Alexander Zubritsky and North Korea Consul in Nakhodka Lee Sok-Son also took part in the meeting.

The participants in the meeting stated that DPRK-Vladivostok relations started to gather momentum in 2009 and the establishment of the twin city relations between Vladivostok and the North Korean city of Wonsan contributed substantially to it. It is especially important that the twin city relationships have become increasingly beneficial for both cities from the outset. Thus, Wonsan intends to supply sand and other building materials for the APEC-2012 construction projects as well as for renovation of buildings in the preparation for 150-anniversary of Vladivostok in the nearest future. Vladivostok, in its turn, will supply huge shipments of bitumen to North Korea.

Igor Pushkarev and Sim Guk Ryon have also discussed the possibility of relocation of DPRK Consulate General from Nakhodka to Vladivostok and exchanged ideas on implementation of a wide array of joint mutually beneficial projects in Vladivostok.
