24 марта 2009, 03:50
The country dropped from 86th position to 103rd out of 127 available, and interposed between Mauritania and Honduras

VLADIVOSTOK. March 24. VOSTOK-MEDIA – Forbes published a regular list of the most attractive countries in terms of business in 2009. Russia dropped from 86th position to 103rd out of 127 available, and interposed between Mauritania and Honduras. Only for this year the Russian Federation has lost 17 points in this rating. Among those countries that got ahead of Russia there are Uruguay (66), Zambia (85) and even Uganda (100). Georgia and Ukraine also got ahead of the Russian Federation, taking 64th and 97th positions respectively. Top-three countries were Denmark, USA and Canada.
Forbes publishes the rating of countries for the fourth time. Moreover, as the publication states, a position in the rating doesn’t depend on economic indicators, such as GDP and unemployment rate.
The major criteria on which the rating is based on are: the freedom for running of business, state of art of legal basis, liberty of speech, democratic elections and respect for human rights.
According to the opinion of Russian experts, the foreigners just did not get used to the Russian way of business dealing and the criteria of the rating are nonobjective.
