The visit of the USCGC Jarvis marks the end of the North Pacific Coast Guard Forum.

VLADIVOSTOK. August 24. VOSTOK-MEDIA – US Coast Guard Cutter Jarvis, under the command of Captain Webster Balding, is scheduled to arrive in Vladivostok Wednesday.

The US Consulate in the Russian Far East said the visit will be held as part of the North Pacific Coast Guard Forum. The Jarvis arrives in Vladivostok along with Chinese, South Korean and Japanese Coast Guard vessels. The welcoming ceremony for the vessels will be held at Passenger terminal’s berth No. 2. A media briefing will take place shorty after the ceremony.

The events in Vladivostok will mark the end of the Coast Guard Forum, which started on August 20 with a multilateral naval exercise. The Jarvis was to work out coordinated actions with Russian, Japanese, South Korean and Chinese coast guards.

“During the visit, crew of the CGC Jarvis, along with their participation in the forum events, are expected to take a tour around the city and visit child care centers,” says Acting CG Patricia Miller. “On August 26, the crew will visit Parus Nadezhdy Childrens Rehabilitation Center to participate in some sporting games with the children. On Friday, they will visit the children that are undergoing treatment in Primorye Children’s Oncological Center. The Jarvis crew sincerely hopes that their visit will raise the little patients’ spirits and thus contribute to their recovery,” she said.
