VLADIVOSTOK. November 23. VOSTOK-MEDIA – The construction of shipyard in Chazhma Bay, Primorsky Krai, will change the landscape of Dunay village and make it more comfortable for working and living, Matthew Koh, Corporate Planning Director, Yantai Raffles Offshore Ltd, told RIA Vostok-Media.

“During the preparation for the laying of the commemorative capsule in the construction site of the advanced shipyard in Chazhma Bay we have discussed a number of issues with our Russian colleagues from the Far East Center of Shipbuilding and Ship Repair. They helped us immensely on a number of questions. I am confident that it will be easy for us to do business in Russia. The management of our company believes that we will succeed in Russia and will solve all issues on setting-up of new capacities and infrastructure development in close collaboration with the Far East Center of Shipbuilding and Ship Repair,” Matthew Koh stated.

According to the Planning Director, Yantai Raffles Offshore is interested in landscape improvement and development of Dunay village, near which the shipyard is constructed.

“Together with the Far East Center of Shipbuilding and Ship Repair we give much thought to the impact the construction and operation of the shipyard may have on local population. The Chinese city of Yantai, where our company has been operating for a long time, may be taken as an example. When, 15 years ago, Brian Chang, Executive Chairman, arrived in this little town there were no good roads, houses were unfit to live in. There were no street lamps in the town. The shipyard was constructed in the remote and deserted area. Within 15 years the town has seen major changes. The present-day Yantai enjoys a highly developed infrastructure; a lot of residential buildings, restaurants and shops were constructed. I am confident that we will accomplish such a result in Primorsky Krai,” said Matthew Koh.
