VLADIVOSTOK. February 25. VOSTOK-MEDIA - The new draft technical regulations on the safety of vehicles, which caused a lot of criticism in the drivers world has been changed. The planned ban on the right-hand wheel cars in Russia will not be enforced, but the import of used cars with more than three years of use may be completely banned.
The new technical regulations stipulates the procedure for passing draconian certification, after which the importation of vehicles up to three and over five years would be unprofitable, according to "Rossiyskaya Gazeta". According to Director of Department of Automotive Industry Minpromtorga Alexei Rakhmanov, this provision would limit the supply of illegal, allegedly used cars. Now small wholesale vendors can be imported into the country under the guise of the new cars thus explained Rakhmanov, they avoid complex and costly certification procedures.
