The Crisis Affects Russian Cities Severely

VLADIVOSTOK. March 25. VOSTOK-MEDIA – Half of Russian cities and regions were affected severely by economical crisis. This was stated by Vicor Basargin, the Minister of Regional Development at the State Duma.
“We conducted a survey that shoed that there are cities and regions, where the situation remains stable – about 10 %. The crisis affected real sector of economy and social sphere in many other Russian cities, but its impact is not severe enough to trigger the irreversible effect – about 40 % of municipal districts.” – stated the Minister.
Analysis of socioeconomic situation of municipalities, based on the monitoring, shows a big difference in rate of economic potential and level of development among municipal districts.
There is also a big difference in income level of population of different districts.
