2nd Swine Flu Patient in Russia

VLADIVOSTOK. May 25. VOSTOK-MEDIA – Second H1N1 (swine flu) case has been confirmed in Russia. Clinical tests were undertaken to prove a resident of the Kaluga Oblast does carry this diagnosis. who had recently arrived from Dominican Republic.
Genady Onishenko, the Chief of the Russian Agency for Health and Consumer Rights stated that the infection was identified due to the monitoring organized by the decision of RF Government in the area of prophylaxis of the highly pathogenic influenza.

He was examined and taken under medical supervision; his test samples were sent to the central research institute of epidemiology of Russian Agency of Health and Consumer Rights in Moscow. On May 24 the clinical tests confirmed A/H1N1 virus.
The first case of human swine flu infection has been diagnosed in Moscow on April 23. A 28-year-old man who works at a New York university was recuperating in a Moscow hospital on Sunday after being confirmed as Russias first case of the A/H1N1 influenza virus.
