More than 400 Applications for Participation in ‘Pacific Meridian’ Film Festival

Over 50 countries have already filed their applications for participation in ‘Pacific Meridian’

VLADIVOSTOK. May 25. VOSTOK-MEDIA - Over 50 countries have already filed their applications for participation in the VII International Film Festival of the Asia-Pacific Region Countries – ‘Pacific Meridian’.
According to the organizers of the festival, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan and the East Europe countries took the great interest in participation in the film festival.
It should be noted that more than 400 hundred film applications have already been filed and the number of participants is getting bigger every day. Film directors are welcome to file their applications till June 20.
At present the movie festival selection committees are busy reviewing submitted works with a view to short-listing them for the festival program. The representatives of directorate of the festival are attending the international film forums with the purpose of sharing experience of other events of and collecting the most impressive and interesting pictures. They have already visited film festivals in Berlin, Hong Kong and Zhengzhou and intend to visit Cannes and ‘Kinotavr’. The film ‘Tale in the Darkness’ shot in Vladivostok by Nikolai Homeriki got shortlisted in the ‘Kinotavr’ Festival and the film-almanac ‘Beyond the Europe Border’ is to be shown in the framework of the Cannes Film Festival.
The qualified and competent jury is one of the principal factors of the Pacific Meridian success. The panel of judges of the VII International Film Festival ‘Pacific Meridian’ will be appointed in August 2009.
