Breakthrough on Lida Demesh Achieved

Russia and DPRK have agreed about release of the ship Lida Demesh. The Consul General of Russia in Chongjing Yevgeniy Valkovich held negotiations with the Kimchaek City border authorities, Vostok Media reports.

On February 23, the North Korean authorities detained Lida Demesh on a charge of violating the state border. The vessel was carrying a consignment of cars from the Japanese port of Hamata to Vladivostok when it was stopped by the DPRK patrol near Cape Musudan. The ship might have violated the border because of the storm.

“As soon as Pyongyang issues the final decision, the vessel will be released,”- Russian Consulate says.
