The Unemployment Rate in Sakhalin is Under Control

UZHNO-SAKHALINSK. March 26. VOSTOK-MEDIA – There are about 5-6 thousand unemployed at the territory of Sakhalin Region. In the beginning of 2009 the rate accounted for 3-4 thousand people.
This was said by Konstantin Stroganov, first vice governor at the meeting with leaders of trade associations and unions.
“We predicted this situation beforehand – stated Konstantin, - the growth of unemployment is connected with accomplishing of construction of off-shore projects.
The unemployment is monitored by the members of work cooperative, including Nikolay Zotov, head of regional trade unions association.
The regional administration has prepared regional employment program that was approved by the Russian Government.
53 million rubles were spent for its implementation from the federal budget and 57 million rubles were provided by the regional budget.
The main purposes of the program are: social work in the municipal district (1763 people), occupational retraining (351 people), probation of graduates on the occasional works (295).
All these measures should alleviate negative consequences at the labor market.
