World’s Leading Construction Company to Design Street-Front of Vladivostok

VLADIVOSTOK. October 26. VOSTOK-MEDIA – Yesterday, Valery Rozov, a Chairman of the Vladivostok city Duma, has held a working meeting with the senior management team of the U.S. branch of RMJM, which is one of the world’s leading construction companies. The delegation of the top management included Sir Fraser Morrison, CEO, North America, James Patterson, CEO, RMJM Scotland Ltd and Vladimir Kvint, Chairman, Russia & CIS, RMJM took part in the meeting. Marina Lomakina, Chairman of the Committee for Economic Policy & Municipal Property also took part in the meeting.

RMJM is a UK-based international architectural practice with the team of almost 1000 architects, designers and creative thinkers. RMJM is operating in 16 largest cities of Europe, Asia, Middle East and North America.

During the meeting, Valery Rozov told about the history of Vladivostok City Duma and provided insights into the general city planning scheme of Vladivostok. Sir Fraser Morrison, on his part, stated that the general urban plan is very promising and the implementation of the plan requires engagement of leading architects, engineers and highly-skilled builders. Moreover, when constructing new buildings it is crucial not to forget the history of the city as well as to carry out urban renewal and restore inner city buildings. And the setting-up of a new RMJM ‘s studio in Vladivostok is a vital move towards the implementation of general city planning scheme of Vladivostok in the preparation for APEC-2012 summit.

RMJM will design will design both the city street-front and other APEC-Summit facilities. According to Vladimir Kvint, RMJM plans to construct two 5-star hotels as well as to reconstruct GUM (State Department Store), the Central Square of Vladivostok and many other minor projects. The architectural solutions to be used in the construction projects will comply with the highest international standards and local engineers and builders will obtain a huge experience during the construction works. Interestingly, RMJM will participate in the construction of Sochi-2014 facilities.

The Chairman of the City Duma stressed that deputies will do their best to facilitate the progress of preparation for the APEC-2012 Summit.
