Starvation Death for $10 Million

US officials ignore the scandalous situation with a disabled Russian and US ex-Consul General in Vladivostok.

A disabled resident of Bolshoi Kamen City, Primorsky Krai, Alexander Kashin said that he would not stop his hunger-strike until the United States paid him $10 million as a compensation for injuries that he got in 1998 in a accident caused by the car of the US Consulate General in Vladivostok, Reuters reports.
Kashin said that after beginning of the hunger-strike American officials had called him and offered $100 000, but he’d refused.
The Vladivostok newspaper released the interview with Alexander Kashin:
- I felt very bad before the holidays but got accustomed now. Every day doctors visit me on their own initiative. The branch office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs called me on Thursday and asked what I needed. My lawyer John Gallagher submitted them a report with a detailed estimate of the expenditures required for my rehabilitation in the next years. We asked for assistance and wait for a reply now. The US officials didn’t call anymore.
- What do doctors say about your starvation?
- Yesterday they said that irreversible processes start in 20-30 days after beginning of a hunger-strike… But I still keep up. I’ll die but achieve my goal.
