Archbishop Veniamin Blessed the Bridge between Russkiy Island and the Continent

VLADIVOSTOK. February 27. VOSTOK-MEDIA – Yesterday on February 26 the archbishop of Vladivostok and Primorskiy Krai Veniamin blessed the construction of the bridge crossing over the strait Bosporus Vostochniy (connecting Russkiy island and the continent). Veneamin ministered on both sides of the city, that will be connected by the bridge – at the peninsula Nazimov and on the Russkiy island.
The religious ceremonial was conducted by the representatives of the Russian Orthodox Church. Officially the construction of the bridge began in September, 2008 right after the Government concluded a contract with general contractor – ‘Most’ (Bridge) company. The construction works at the Russkiy Island began in November, 2008. All the time, along with construction, the engineers had to solve many administrative questions. But today the religious ceremony became possible. The ritual took little time, so that not to stop the progress of work at the object.
